Marcie has worked in early childhood education for 15 years, including teaching in early elementary classrooms and preschool settings. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Elementary Education. Marcie's approach for teaching preschool children involves a balance of guided learning and play. She believes children need to be given many opportunities to explore through high-quality instruction and high-quality child-directed play. With guidance, these activities provide important opportunities for collaboration and social-emotional learning. In addition to directing Pathfinder Children's House, Marcie enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and two dogs.
